Within the last weeks Kimi Räikkönen had to bear a lot of criticism particularly of the Italian press. Now, after his magnificent victory at the French Grand Prix in Magny Cours the gazettes have got reconciled to the Iceman again.

The expectations of the Tifosi to Kimi Räikkönen were high, when he began the successon of the seven times world champion Michael Schumacher at Ferrari. After his triumph at the season opener in Melbourne he seemed to meet these expectations, too. Anyway, after the lack of success at the following races the Finn had to accept sharp criticism. Even reputations after a return of Schumacher got loud. With his victory in France Kimi Räikkönen now could win the hearts of the Tifosi back again.

The 'Corriere dello Sport' said: „Räikkönen drove like Schumi. After Ferrari's one-two victory the world championship is open again. Kimi's slump has come to an end. Now the Finn has a real chance for the title.“

Also the 'Gazzetta dello sports' is convinced by the abilities of the Finn and writes: „Räikkönen did not have a simple task to take Schumacher's place. But in Magny Cours he proved again that he also has the talent of the German.“

The 'La Repubblica' sees Kimi back again in the battle for the championship: „The difficult phase for him is over. He struck a large blow at his critics and can now go on to prove that he is a worthy successor for Schumi.“

And for the 'Tuttosport' it is certain: „Ferrari celebrates. Raikkonen is back, and with the double (one-two) victory a crisis is over.“
