Today,
Kimi Räikkönen started a three day test for the Ferrari team at
the Jerez circuit in southern Spain. Together with his team mate
Felipe Massa the Finn began work on the development of the new
Ferrari F2008.
The
first test day in Spain started rainily, which handicapped the
development work a littel. The track remained damp up to the lunch
break. In the afternoon, the weather improved to the point that it
was possible to run all the time on dry tyres. Kimi completed a
total of 59 laps up to the end of the test session at 17h00 and
set in 1:19.846 minutes the fastest lap time of the day. Therefore
he was 0.277 seconds faster than his team mate Felipe Massa, who
achieved in 1:20.123 minutes the second fastest time.
Testing
at the circuit continues tomorrow, again with Kimi Räikkönen on
track.
