On the Circuit de Catalunya near the gates of Barcelona, Kimi Räikkönen startet with the last three day test session in preparation for the start of the 2008 World Championship in the Australian Melbourne today.

After not being able to run last week Kimi Raikkonen took to the track today at the wheel of an F2008, fitted with the latest aerodynamic updates. Alongside him was a special test driver in the shape of Michael Schumacher. On a day when the weather was not at its best – a wet track for almost the entire morning – the day’s work centred mainly on the overall reliability of the car, as well as set-up testing. Kimi completed a total of 82 laps and set in 1:22.319 minutes the second fastest time of the day. With that he was only 0.043 seconds slower than Lewis Hamilton on top of the time sheets.

Felipe Massa will join Raikkonen on track tomorrow.
