The
driver of the top team discreetly kept to themselves in the third
free practice of the French Grand Prix in Magny Cours. While
Renault's Nelson Piquet set the fastest lap, Kimi finished fifth
and was the best driver under the potential winning candidates.
Kimi
completed a total of 18 laps in the final practice ahead of the
qualifying and set a time of 1:16.003 minutes. With that he had a
gap of 0.253 minutes on Nelson Piquet jr., who was fastest in
1:15.750 minutes. Kimi's team mate Felipe Massa finished the
practice session on the ninth place with a gap of 0.503 seconds on
the Renault.
